Our client, an environmental consultant, was looking for a country house within two hours of London with a budget of up to £10 million. The key requirement was land, with a minimum of 150 acres taking priority within the search.

The brief called for a substantial country property surrounded by its own land, with privacy, good family accommodation and a strong connection to the surrounding landscape.

Result

We secured an off-market country estate set within 159 acres in the High Weald National Landscape. The main house sits centrally within its land and is complemented by three further cottages arranged around an attractive courtyard.

The estate also offered a swimming pool, tennis court, games room and entertaining spaces, alongside extensive woodland and meadows. Rejuvenated ponds support a rich variety of biodiversity and wildlife, while a river runs through the estate.

From our initial appointment through to completion, the acquisition took ten months.
