Our client, an international buyer in the technology industry, was looking for a country retreat away from London with a budget of £3.5 million. The brief was for somewhere that offered a genuine escape, while remaining easily accessible by both road and rail.

Character was also important, with the client particularly drawn to Gothic architecture and properties with a strong sense of history.

Result

We secured a distinctive Gothic country house in Cumbria that offered the character and setting our client was looking for. Originally built as a single dwelling, the property had been divided into three over time, while retaining the history and architectural character of the original building.

Importantly, the acquisition also presented the potential to bring the wider estate back together in the future. From our initial appointment through to completion, the purchase was concluded within nine months.
