Our client was searching for a private coastal retreat in the South Hams with a budget of £10–12 million. The brief called for a three to five-bedroom property with direct access to the water, offering peace, privacy and exceptional natural surroundings. Finding a home that combined these qualities with long-term potential in one of the South West's most sought-after coastal locations required a highly targeted search.

Within eight months, we secured an outstanding coastal property that delivered far more than just a waterside home. Set within 18 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, including an impressive arboretum, the property enjoys panoramic views across the estuary, together with a private boathouse, moorings and direct access to the water. At low tide, a small private beach emerges directly in front of the house, creating an exceptionally rare coastal setting. Although the main house was slightly smaller than originally envisaged, the opportunity to connect it with the existing annexe provides valuable scope to increase the accommodation in the future.
